Description

Also named the Prison of the patriots at the foot of the current, this building was built in the 1830s
Nearly 500 patriots were imprisoned there during the rebellions of 1837-1838. twelve of them were hanged at this historic place. Among these twelve patriots, there was the notary François-Marie-Thomas, knight of lorimier, who left a political testament of the best known in Quebec.

His name, at the foot of the current, is given to it because of the place where it is located: near the current Saint-Marie, on the edge of montreal.
